Media Killed the Local Band Star
I have been thinking about the effect of mass media on local artists lately.  Let me explain what I mean.  For thousands of years, civilization has been largely entertained by homegrown musicians.  It was basically a matter of lack of transportation and a means by which artists from far away could share their works.  This has changed dramatically over the past 150 years or so…concerts now...
