
I felt like having Cafe du J yesterday, and since my wife works late on Mondays, I figured, “Why not try to make a fancy dinner?” The food didn’t end up being fancy or very healthy, but I experimented with two things I haven’t really done: deep frying and bread baking. We had wings (bottom right), panko bread crumb with spices fried artichoke hearts (lower right), honey country loaf bread (upper right), a two wine selection (upper right), and the dining room had been turned into a mini-cafe (minus our stuff waiting to be placed in storage, upper left). For an experiment, it turned out pretty good. Oh yeah, we had sliced strawberries and cookies and cream ice cream for dessert. Yum.
